Concert 3 - Southeast Collegium

The performance will feature works for strings, flute, voice and lute by composers of the late Renaissance and early Baroque, including pair of haunting songs by the English Composer John Dowland featuring Chris Goeke, tenor. Also on the program will be chamber works for flute and strings by Vivaldi, Handel,(performed by Paul Thompson) and violin sonatas by the early Italian composers Bartali and Fontana (performed by Brandon Christensen). Sara Edgerton will perform a cello sonata by Giovanni Bononcini. Bononcini and his younger brother trained as cellists and performed together in Bologna, Rome, and Vienna. This is a concert that will appeal to all audiences.
